WHAT IS NEW AT THE SALT MARSH GALLERY
Ben Winter
We are delighted to welcome Bournemouth-born artist Ben Winter to The Salt Marsh Gallery. A graduate of Central Saint Martins with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art Painting, he has been painting and exhibiting continuously since completing his studies in 1993.
Working across a variety of subjects, including still life, landscape and portraiture, his work is united by a fascination with light, colour and composition, and their ability to evoke mood and visual interest.
Primarily working in acrylics, he captures subjects with remarkable immediacy while remaining grounded in strong draughtsmanship and traditional artistic principles that underpin his distinctive and accomplished practice.
Julian Rowe
From his spacious garden studio near St Ives, Julian creates paintings that are collected across the UK and around the world. His work goes beyond capturing beautiful scenes; it seeks the quiet, poetic presence that lies beneath the surface of familiar landscapes. Julian aims to reveal the subtle, mystical mood - the ‘soul’ of a place - that stays with us long after we leave.
Through his evolving practice, he continues to draw back the veil between the everyday and the profound, offering viewers artwork that resonates emotionally and invites a deeper connection with the hills, harbours, and coastlines that inspire him.
